GUEST POST : AUTHOR A.MUSE

Love is never giving on what you want, going after it with your whole mind, heart, and soul. It’s failing and standing up again. It’s setback after setback but still moving forward. Love is having a dream and stopping at nothing to fulfil it.

I have a dream to get get published. The first stop on that road was, of course, writing a book. What I came up with was a whole series of books that I’m proud to publish and put my name on. The D.E.A.T.H series are seven books about love, desire, revenge, obsession, honor, loyalty, and sin.

D.E.A.T.H, what does it stands for? That seems to always be the question of the day. Desire Eats At The Heart. I picked the name D.E.A.T.H not just for the underlying horror tone to the whole series but also what it stands for. Desire eating away at the hearts of the characters pushing them farther over the edge and into the eye of darkness.
The first book in this series is called L.I.E.S. Loyalty Is Ensuring Survival.

Love is...complex.

It's waking in the morning and falling asleep at night with a single person on your mind. They occupy the space in your head from dusk till dawn and you wonder, 'are they thinking about me as well?'

Love is...obsessive.

It's a feeling that often times is reciprocated by the other person. It's the knowledge that you belong to them and they belong to you. When you love someone, you give yourself over to that person fully. Everything about your being becomes theirs. Your heart, your mind, your very soul is consumed by them.  You promise to take care of them, answer to their ever need and whim. You are at their beck and call. You become their...follower. Or maybe the more appropriate word is stalker.

But...what do you do when the one you love betrays you? Do you cry, and beg them not to leave you? Do you try to make them understand love is not temporary? Do you tell them not to be so cruel? No. You make them understand lies won't be tolerated. You make them see it's till death does you part.
And loyalty ensures survival.

It is told in Harper Lin Brown’s POV. (point of view)  When we first meet Harper, he is spyin on his cheating boyfriend, Luke. I think what makes Harper stand apart from the rest of us is that most of us wouldn’t watch our boyfriend sleep with someone else. Most of us would have saw it and ran away. Harper stands, he watches, he even takes a phone call.

Harper is someone who is obsessed with love. His late mother’s last words to him were ‘We are nothing without love.’ They are powerful words that become the driving force behind everything that Harper is and his way of reviewing himself and those around him. In his mind, he is no one until he’s finds someone he loves, who loves him back.

I think while reading L.I.E.S you all will enjoy the starting quotes at the beginning of every chapter. They each speak about love and give a little insight to what will happen doing the chapter.

I’m hoping that L.I.E.S will be published by late December or early January. L.I.E.S will be the first book that I have published. I’m doing it through createspace. I will probably put it on ibooks and, of course, kindle. It’s still being edited right now. Editing has to be the longest, hardest process ever.

Fun fact about L.I.E.S. When I started to write it I only wanted a story about a guy killing people. As the chapters went on it became something more. Characters that weren’t suppose to mean anything became important. Characters that I thought would have lasted longer died off. Funny how sometimes a book can write itself.

The second book in the D.E.A.T.H Series, M.A.D, - My Absolute Determination - is told in Blaze’s point of view.

Desire is...all consuming.

When you see something, someone you like you want that person, that thing. You stop at nothing to get it. Seeking it full, body, heart, and mind. You can't stop until it is yours. Hold it in your arms treasure it forever and ever. No one, nothing can take it from you. You whisper to your item 'you are mine, and I am yours.'

Desire is...need.

You need, you want, you will have. When there is something that we seek as humans we go to get it. We pull out all the stops. Yelling to the world. 'Look at me!' Get the attention, the money, whatever means is needed to possess this desired thing. Yes, posses because in the end we all want to possess each other. We all want to own the things we love. If we possess something it is our. No one can take them. Pry them from your cold dead fingers. How far would you go to take what you want? How far is too far?

As for all things someone else will come. Someone will try and take what is yours. If you desire something there will always be another that desire it as well. So what to do when this aggressor come for your most beloved thing. Back away and hand it over? Beg them not to steal from you? Or do you protect your possession? Do you set fire to them all?
Desires must be earned through absolute determination.

Through his story you get to see Harper in the eyes of Blaze. You will probably come to see that things you thought about Blaze before aren’t true. You get to know him on a deeper level. Just like with Harper you get to see what drives Blaze. You learn the lengths that he is willing to go to for the things he desire.

Blaze is a character who cares about his family. Everything that he does throughout the book is for his family. Even at times when he doesn’t make the right choice, the just choice, he still does it for his family. The love for those people is what propels him forward.

So far only the first two books are written. L.I.E.S is being edited and M.A.D is on deck. While this is happening I’ve also started the third book D.I.E.S. It will be told in Jensen point of view. It will be interesting to see how Jensen views Harper and Blaze. The third book is also set two years after book two M.A.D.

One of the unique things about the D.E.A.T.H series is that each book is written in a different person point of view. Each of the characters are family and have interactions with each other throughout the series. When reading the books you get to see each of them from a different person’s point of view.

Lastly what I enjoy about the D.E.A.T.H series is that even though it’s a LGBT book it’s not leaking cum. I think a lot of authors that write boyxboy feel the need to sex up their stories. L.I.E.S and every other book in the D.E.A.T.H series has intimate moments between the main character and his lover but the book isn’t about sex. It’s about love, life, and murder.

Get lost. Seek light. Never find it.
